The medium of instruction is English. All learners attend regular German lessons. In the High School, History tuition is bilingual, in both German and English, leading to the IEB examination in Grade 12.
The Grade 12 learners write the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate examinations. Learners who achieve 60% or more in each of their subjects and have passed Mathematics in these examinations, are afforded the chance to study abroad in Germany without having to write additional entrance examinations. Study permits and entry to German universities are fast-tracked, on application, to learners matriculating from the DSH. Writing the IEB examinations ensures a guaranteed standard. Our teachers constantly attend user-group and cluster meetings at which ideas are exchanged with other schools writing the IEB examinations.
